Your £5 annual subscription gets you a place on our GM list and allows you to bring/choose which games you would like to see played at Magers on a rotation basis. The money collected will be used to fund our games library and also other incidental expenses (e.g. web domain name fees)

Remember, this is completely optional and anyone is quite welcome to attend Magers without joining the GM list.

Today we had at least 5 'new members', some first timers, others who joined within the past 2 months. Around 20 people attended in all and we had to have 4 games on the tables (with my group and Dean's sharing the centre table.

As far as I'm aware, GMs were: Dean, Me (Philip), Don, Chris.

My group played Incan Gold and then Mundus Novus. I lost both... spectacularly. I think both games were won by one of the 1st timers: Fiona. Also played in this were Daniel, Jo and Mark (Fiona's boyfriend).

A particularly welcome sight was Daniel's girlfriend, Jo and 3 of their pet rats... Please don't mention their pressence to Emma. She's petrified of mice and rats after her experiences in a previous home, now dubbed "The House of Mouse".

It was another good evening. See you next week!

I'd love to get in a game of Battlestar Galactica at some point... preferably with some of the components from the Exodus expansion, which I own but haven't played with yet.

I had a great 2011 with you guys and I look forward to an equally great 2012.

Andy 'Battlepuppy' GMed a 4-player Eclipse alongside Daniel, Richard and me. Unpredictably, I came last after my plant race managed to -unsuccessfully- turtle on one side of the galaxy. The end truly came in the form of Andy's interceptor class ships who amazingly managed to dodge all my rolled 1s and 2s whilst skilfully and repeatedly delivering a payload of 4+s of his own. This was painful indeed.

I've still yet to not enjoy a game of Eclipse however, despite my obvious lack of skill.

Anyone interested interested in going halves on the $90 ($120 with postage) for 2 kickstarter copies of Mutant Meeples with the expansions?

As I said, not long left before the kickstarter project goes 'live' and we lose the chance to get the game earlier and with the kickstarter-only expansion tiles/pieces.

Unless splitting the costs between two people, the game would be a little too costly for me and so for efficiency's sake I'd need another backer to bring the price to one I'm comfortable. With two people the cost of each copy would be $60, which works out at about £40 each.

So, anyone interested? If so, please PM me and/or reply to this as soon as possible, so I can order the game for delivery in February.
