Since that time people have come and gone (I came and you've not managed to get rid of me yet!).
I feel like I've been a member for years (and I guess I have though not as many as some of you older folk). I've learned so many new games in this time and I'm grateful to all those that have been patient when I indulge in a little Analysis Paralysis, even though many of you are way worse and just won't admit it (thinking of Stew here).
I greatly value the group and its members. I consider Tuesdays to be one of the highlights of my week and that's because of the quality of the people I play with at the HMCC. I consider many of my fellow members as friends and I hope they don't hate me too much, especially when I try to teach rules :-/
Of course, one day I'll probably have to move a little too far away to be able to attend regularly but I know that I'll still be welcome on those days I can get to see you.
Magers has grown considerably and I think the 'new' venue has proved successful... pretty sure none of our houses could accommodate the 20 people who played yesterday night (10th Jan). I hope we'll continue to have the use of it. It is a pretty sweet deal compared to the way most other groups have to operate.
In short, those that have made Magers possible have created an event that brings pleasure to people every week and for that I am grateful.
Thank you to those that founded Magers, those that attend, regularly or not and thank you to those that help maintain our great, informal club and the website in which I'm currently writing.
I think you'll all agree that Magers has proved to be a great success. Happy 5th anniversary, all.
... See you next week?
Cheek!! I'll be having words with you later mister!!
P.S. No one hates you Phil.
