Games collection, auction and stuff

As mentioned elsewhere on the forum, Martin Wallace has donated some games for the group and to get us started, many thanks for the donations.

If I remember right, he gave us:
    Age of industry
    London
    Und schuss
    Gettysburg
    Steel Driver

Dean took a couple for safekeeping and the rest were put in the small room off the front of the big room we use, all that is in there is some boxes of decorations, some weak shelves (dont think they would take the weight of the games) and a sink. It looks like it is not used at all. I probably wont make it tomorrow, so I thought I would point out where the games were in case anyone wanted to play one and didnt know where they were.

I chatted to Andy B on friday about gettysburg. Mainly as it is not really suitable for the group, as it is a 2 player wargame. We could use it to try to trade it for something more suitable for the group, or see if anyone wants to buy it from the group so we can then use the money to get something else? What do people think about this? We also said that we need some sort of storage device, sooner rather than later, wether it is just a big plastic box like you can get from ikea, or a chest or a cabinet? Does anyone have anything at home they could donate?

Another thing we spoke about is how many other people are intending to go the the auction saturday week?? It would be a good idea to maybe use some of the membership cash to get some cheap games for the group, if there was several members of the magers there we could all discuss what should be targetted for the group, and not to bid it up!! We cant really decide what to target until the event as we dont know what is going to be there. It would probably be good to talk about this tomorrow, especially with people who dont have the net to see if they can make it.

I would buy gettysburg/trade for it, if thats what you decide, unless there are other takers.

Buying games at the auction for the club...cracking idea. I'd say use your discretion on buying, If something would be popular and is inexpensive, grab. In particular if it's a filler.

I'll be there this tuesday, we can discuss this more then about the auction.

Dean, will you be there on tuesday? If so, and you all agree that using the auction to get some stuff, bring some cash along for me to bid with.

Gavin, on a personal point of view, the swap would be preferable, what do you want to swap for it? We can talk about this more on tuesday as well.

Howdy, Stranger!
